In Overlay, four photos of the same place are divided into cyan, magenta, yellow and black and layered to create one scene. In the printing process these four colours are part of what is called Colour Separation. In each scenario, there is a point where all four overlap and a naturalistic range of colours can be seen. This coming together of the scene makes for a good analogy to my work – public spaces seen as a series of moments all at once.
The work was shot in Istanbul, London, Toronto, Miami, Rome, Siena and Florence.
